Introduction
We Write Songs (“WWS”) is a songwriting community operated by Tara Henton Music.
By joining, accessing, or using We Write Songs, including our Mighty Networks spaces, website, events, livestreams, Zoom sessions, and related services, you agree to these Terms of Use.
These Terms exist to help protect the integrity, safety, and sustainability of the community for everyone involved.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use We Write Songs.
Membership Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to join We Write Songs.
By joining the community, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
Members are expected to participate in WWS as genuine individuals engaging in good faith with the songwriting community.
WWS memberships are intended for individual use only and may not be shared, transferred, sublicensed, or resold.
We reserve the right to review, restrict, or remove accounts that appear misleading, automated, anonymous, inactive, or inconsistent with the intended purpose, safety, and integrity of the platform.
Memberships, Billing, Cancellation & Account Termination
Membership fees are billed on a recurring basis according to the membership plan selected at sign-up.
You may cancel your membership at any time. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. Members are responsible for cancelling recurring subscriptions prior to renewal dates.
No refunds are provided for partial membership periods unless required by law.
Promotional, introductory, founder, early adopter, or legacy pricing is linked to maintaining an active subscription. If your membership is cancelled or lapses, you may not be able to return at the same rate and future membership will be subject to current pricing.
We Write Songs reserves the right to update pricing periodically. Members will be given reasonable notice of any pricing changes.
We Write Songs reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate memberships or accounts where there is breach of these Terms, harmful behaviour, misuse of the platform, unauthorised sharing of community content, suspected scraping or automated activity, non-payment, or conduct deemed damaging to the safety, integrity, or wellbeing of the community.
Where appropriate, warnings may be issued before account action is taken, but WWS reserves the right to remove access immediately in cases of serious or repeated violations.
Termination of membership does not remove a member’s responsibility to comply with these Terms regarding confidentiality, intellectual property, recordings, or misuse of community content.

By participating in the community, you agree to:
-
engage respectfully with fellow members

Creative Ownership & Intellectual Property
Members retain full ownership of all songs, lyrics, demos, recordings, voice notes, written work, and creative materials shared within We Write Songs.
WWS is committed to maintaining a protected creative environment where work shared within the community is treated respectfully and confidentially by both members and hosts.
Members are expected not to share community content externally without permission.
We Write Songs will not publicly share member creative work from within the community.
If members choose to publicly share their songs, releases, performances, or creative projects on social media or other public platforms, We Write Songs may engage with those public shares through normal social media interaction such as liking, commenting, reposting, or sharing.
However, WWS is under no obligation to publicly share, repost, or amplify all publicly available member work.
Public-facing shares and features are curated in alignment with the values, creative ethos, and purpose of the community.
Testimonials & Community Feedback
WWS may occasionally invite members to share feedback, reflections, testimonials, or thoughts about their experience within the community.
Responses may be used internally to help improve the community, understand member experience, and guide future development.
If WWS wishes to publicly reproduce a member’s words as part of testimonials, promotional materials, social media, newsletters, or website content, permission will be requested before doing so.
Where applicable, we will also seek consent regarding how the member is identified, including use of their name, artist name, or general geographic location.
Privacy, Confidentiality & Community Safety
We Write Songs is intended to be a protected creative environment where members can safely share ideas, unfinished work, reflections, and feedback.
To help maintain trust and emotional safety within the community, members may not:
-
repost member comments, discussions, or creative work without permission
-
upload member content into AI systems, generators, analysis tools, or external databases
-
extract, manipulate, clone, separate, or repurpose member audio, vocals, likeness, or creative work without consent
These expectations exist to protect both creative ownership and the privacy of the community.
Livestreams, Zoom Sessions, Community Photos & Replays
Some WWS events, workshops, livestreams, or Zoom sessions may occasionally be recorded for replay or educational purposes within the community.
WWS may also occasionally capture screenshots or group images from live sessions to help celebrate and promote the community through social media, newsletters, or website content.
By attending live sessions with your camera enabled, you acknowledge that your image, display name, or participation may occasionally appear in these community-related shares.
If you would prefer not to appear in screenshots, recordings, or social media posts, you may turn your camera off or contact the host in advance and WWS will make reasonable efforts to respect your preference.
Unauthorised recording, screenshotting, redistribution, or external sharing of community sessions by members is strictly prohibited.
